Game: Youda Farm
Basically Youda Farm is a game about gradually building a farm using it’s surrounding environment and everyday skills, for example growing tomatoes and then selling it to the local market. This establishes an economic overview and its existence in a fun-farming scenario. In a class room it would be best utilized in a math or humanities session and could be used for all year levels.
The use of games I believe to an extent are a great way to experience many different aspects of life and to extend the boundaries. It enables exploration of the imagination in the comfort of your own home or in a school environment. However we cannot solely rely on computer games to launch this concept of the imagination due to not allowing room for growth in other areas. For example if teachers only reinforced the use of computer games then the child will one be unable to hand write, second of all their social skills would be at a low standard. Overall, using games occasionally is great however we do need to construct a solid foundation in other aspects of education.
